Si Jie Loo will be sharing her creative process and her experience of her art residency with the MBS Foundation SB.

About the residency:
My work is driven by movements. As an artist in the diaspora, I am constantly on the move between places, cultures, music genres and languages. As such, I have accumulate many pocket-size work done when I am “moving”. The small-scale projects that I want to bring in ranges from written essays, photographs of my travels, paintings, on-the-spot sketches of people and places that are often tucked away when we go on with our lives.

I want to grow as an artist by incorporating a wider range of expression into my art making process. I want share how my practice evolves as I settle into the Santa Barbara community after returning from my art fellowship in China and Malaysia.
